Seymour Duncan MortalCoil 7-String ActMt Pickup Set
The MortalCoil 7-String ActMt captures aggressive, articulate transients across a wide tonal spectrum while maintaining clarity and definition in the mix. These active humbuckers are engineered for modern extended-range recording, with three selectable voices that adapt from tight metal aggression to smooth jazz-influenced warmth. Drop-in compatibility and efficient battery management make this set a practical upgrade for 7-string sessions demanding versatility and consistent output.
Tone & Recording Response
Three selectable voices—MC1 metal voice, JB/Jazz-inspired voice, and single-coil voice—let you shape your recorded tone without swapping pickups between takes. The high-density copper coils paired with a low-distortion preamp preserve articulation and sustain while rejecting unwanted noise, critical for extended-range tunings where clarity deteriorates quickly in dense mixes.
Installation & Workflow
Drop-in upgrade compatible with many existing active setups, and the set includes potentiometers and wiring harness for streamlined installation. The efficient circuitry design maximizes battery life, eliminating maintenance interruptions during long tracking or overdub sessions.
