Schott Traumerei, Op. 15, No. 7

Schumann’s Romantic gem from Scenes from Childhood has been arranged for string quartet and four cellos. “Wisely, Birtel has elected to transpose this short piece from the original F major into C major. This change takes advantage of the sonorous possibilities of the cello’s C string, and greatly facilitates note-reading for young players…Cello teachers will be grateful for this thoughtful new addition to the cello-ensemble repertoire.”–Strings magazine
