The monster cases are available even with 6U and 9U. The reason for these additional cases is that the 12U monster cases are a bit difficult to handle by one person only. At least for the double version A-100PMD12 two persons are necessary. On top of this it is necessary to have available smaller versions of the monster cases when they are mounted together as shown in the pictures on the left side (because of stability and appearance – with a 6U case as upper element the construction looks not that “intimidating”).
The pictures show an assembly that consists of a monster base frame A-100PMB and two 9U single monster cases A-100PMS9. The three components have to be fixed at the rear side by screw fittings to obtain stability and avoid overturning. For transportation the screw fittings can be released so that each of the three components can be carried by one person only.
Two types of connector sets for the monster cases are available: straight (A-100MVG) and angled (A-100MVW). You find the sets in the price list near the monster cases.
For the connection between A-100PMB and the A-100PMSx on top of the A-100PMB a straight connector set is used. For the connection of the two A-100PMSx the straight or the angled connector set can be used (as shown in the picture). Each set includes two connectors (straight or angled), 4 hexagon screws and washes. The picture shows the prototypes of the connectors. The final version of the connector sets is black coated (not blank metal) and the angled version has a fixed angle (no hinge)..
The 6U monster case A-100PMS6 are equipped with two power supplies (A-100PSU2) and four bus boards, the 9U version A-100PMS9 with two power supplies (A-100PSU2) and six bus boards
