22″ HHX Sonic Surge Cymbal
The 22″ HHX Sonic Surge captures explosive transient detail under the stick with a dark, complex wash underneath. This thin, fully hand-hammered pang-style cymbal produces a low-pitched voice that sits clearly in a mix without sacrificing musicality, making it an excellent choice for producers and engineers tracking articulate crash-ride or secondary crash tones with character.
Sonic Character & Recording Response
The cymbal’s dark, low-pitched voice pairs explosive accents with a surging sustain when struck with sticks, while mallet work produces a slow bloom into a rich, enveloping dark wash. This tonal depth and attack definition translates well across contemporary and traditional session work, with plenty of recorded impact and sustain that blends naturally into mixes.
Construction & Materials
Built from B20 bronze and fully hand-hammered throughout, this cymbal reflects traditional craftsmanship in its pang-style design. The thin profile keeps weight moderate while maintaining projection and clarity across available weight variants—important for capturing definition during multitrack recording and layering in post-production.
